Inktober 2017

Draw with Ink Everyday for the Month of October

I enjoy challenging myself and was excited to see if I could discipline myself to draw everyday. My main goals for the month were to practice drawing from my imagination, and from observation and then from memory. Before starting the semester I had had experience with drawing from observation but felt uncomfortable and a bit lost about how to go about drawing from my imagination. Hence why I wanted to use Inktober to work on this skill.

Inktober Reflection

Even though my drawings are rough, Inktober definitely helped me feel more confident with drawing from my imagination. I learned that drawing from my imagination is about drawing regularly and building up a visual bank of subjects so I can visualise something in my head before drawing it. Drawing everyday objects will build up my visual vocabulary. I hope to push myself to draw everyday to build on my skills.
